Road Safety Capacity Reviews

Strategic Safety Solutions Pty Ltd provides an internationally skilled team with practical experience strong enforcement, education and engineering skills to undertake stakeholder consultation, site location visits and integrated inspections to
develop an holistic appraisal of road safety requirements within a country or province. We recognise that road safety is a complex issue that needs a multi- faceted, consultative and integrated strategy. Practical solutions and counter-measures are presented to ensure a cohesive approach to road trauma reduction. Reviews include a current road safety situational assessment, a road safety analysis of key issues, current institutional arrangements and a diagnostic summary. Our understanding of the key international road safety issues and processes assess the capacity of the road safety co-ordination and management function, the road accident data system, road safety funding, the planning and design of roads, the capacity to identify and improve hazardous locations, road safety education of children, driver training and testing, vehicle safety standards and road worthiness inspections, road safety publicity campaigns, traffic law and other legislation impacting on road safety, road policing and traffic law enforcement, emergency assistance to road accident victims, road safety research and road accident costing, partnerships and pedestrian safety and specifically, road safety data management which includes all the issues mentioned. Also included is the compliance with the United Nations decade of action objectives and alignment with the ‘safe systems’ approach. The culmination is the development of a national (or provincial) road safety strategy and action plans including recommendations for technical assistance for future enhancement.
